Design Review Guidelines

Design Review Committee General Info:
 
PGC Design Review Board meets the third Wednesday of every month (unless otherwise noted on the calendar). If you are thinking about any improvement to your home, please consult the Design Guidelines, to see if you need to fill out an application. Projects that need an application and approval from the committee include:
  • most exterior home improvements
  • installation of a fence, patio
  • removing certain types of trees, and
  • large landscape projects 
 
A written application includes providing all pertinent data including any architectural drawings and specifications, types of material, colors, etc.
 
Applications are typically due the first Friday of the month, however we ask that you please see the information on the website calendar to confirm due dates.

Basketball Hoops:
All portable basketball goals (in a permanent location) require that a Basketball Hoop Acknowledgement Form be on file with the Master Association. 
The following standards shall apply: 
 
  1. All portable basketball goals (in a permanent location) are only permitted on lots with Single Family Detached Homes and Duplexes (Villas) and must adhere to the standards below
  2. Portable basketball goals are not permitted on Condominium property. 
  3. Portable basketball goals are only permitted for use on a temporary basis on Townhome lots and do not require approval, but must adhere to all applicable standards listed below:
 
  • All Basketball Goal systems, must have an acknowledgement form on file with the Master Association. (See Appendix Four)
  • They may not be affixed to permanent or semi-permanent, free standing poles. Only goals with a portable base are permitted. They may not be attached to the home or garage. 
  • They may not exceed a height of 12 feet to the highest point of the structure.
  • There are only permitted in locations on or immediately adjacent to an existing driveway on the subject lot.
  • Backboards must be acrylic or clear in color with limited graphics. The poles shall be painted or pre-colored black, grey or gun metal gray.
  • No court markings are painted, drawn or otherwise affixed to the playing surface.
  • Basketball goal structures must be located at least five (5) feet from a side lot line and at least eight (8) feet from the property line adjacent to a street. 
  • Basketball goals shall not to be located in close proximity to an adjacent street or sidewalk such that players will interfere with pedestrian or vehicular traffic or otherwise create an unsafe environment for the players, pedestrians and drivers alike. The play surface / area must remain in the Owner’s Lot.
  • For “temporary” locations, basketball goals must be removed nightly and stored out of sight (preferably in the garage) when not in use.
  • Basketball Goals/Hoops of any type shall not be located on common areas, sidewalks or on streets.
  • Play is limited to daylight hours.
  • In accordance the Association’s Master Declaration, no continued annoyance, nuisance or hazard shall be permitted. (See below)
  • As in the case with generally maintaining your lot, and keeping a clean and orderly appearance, the area around your portable basketball goal/hoop systems must be clear of debris and other unapproved items. 
  • Certain weather conditions can cause these structures to become unsafe during a weather event or with improper use.  Therefore, portable basketball goal/hoop system must be stabilized by filling the base with water or sand according to manufacturer’s instructions or by the use of hoop anchors. No other form of weighting, for example cinder blocks, bricks, bagged sand, mulch or gravel that is placed on top of the base is acceptable. If the hoop cannot be stabilized following the manufacturer’s instructions or with anchors, it is not suitable for placement in the community setting.  Examples of hoop anchors, which are a reasonable option to achieve compliance and still stabilize the portable basketball hoop are:
